The scientific and emotional benefits of singing with your baby

Singing is far more than a fun pastime—it is a powerful tool for your baby's neurological development and your own mental wellbeing. At Sing, Soothe & Connect, our South Lanarkshire group sessions bring mothers together to lower stress hormones, nurture maternal attachment, and foster early speech through gentle, purpose-written songs.

Understanding the benefits of our classes

Discover how group singing supports speech milestones, soothes daily transitions, and offers a welcoming space for mothers of all musical abilities.

Does it matter if I’m not a good singer?

No! I will give you help and techniques to improve your sound and confidence but remember- your baby has been listening to your voice since it was in the womb. Your voice is the one it loves best so you are singing to your number one fan!.

Does it matter if my baby cries?

Feel free to feed or do whatever you need to comfort your baby. The activity of singing should foster calm amongst the babies but some days they may be out of sorts and no one is judging!

Why are the classes for babies who are not yet walking?

Part of the purpose of these classes is to give mums a chance to sing and relax. Toddlers are fun but definitely not relaxing! The difficulty of managing the children when they can move about would make the class hard to function.
